Présentation de la Masséna Society
Nommée en l’honneur du général français Maréchal André Masséna, la Société a été fondée en 2006 à Atlanta, en Géorgie, par Donald D. Horward, professeur émérite d’histoire, Florida State University, après des discussions avec l’actuel prince d’Essling et duc de Rivoli Victor-André Masséna, descendant du maréchal Masséna. Le Dr Horward a consacré sa carrière à l’étude de Masséna, à l’encadrement d’étudiants diplômés et à la promotion de la bourse napoléonienne dans l’État de Floride et ailleurs, en particulier dans les établissements d’enseignement des officiers militaires. La Société se concentre sur le mentorat d’étudiants diplômés en histoire diplomatique, politique et militaire, napoléonienne et révolutionnaire. La Société Masséna n’est affiliée à aucune université ou institution. L’adhésion se fait sur invitation et les activités de la Société sont soutenues par des dons.
