A word from the president
“The Aix-en-Œuvres association was created in 2002 in order to give to the town of Aix the Statue of Paul Cézanne, for the 100th anniversary of the painter’s death in 2006. Then I had the idea of creating the Flâneries d’art contemporain in the gardens of Aix. I wanted to open up private gardens in the centre of Aix, as a way to showcase private heritage and also present painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, installations, jewellery, perfumes, and then dance, literature, opera, music and actors saying texts to make art accessible to all, free of charge. The public comes in very, very large numbers and is very happy because it is is keen to discover Art and Music, and moreover to enjoy artistic conviviality. ”
