The Fondation Napoléon’s “Cercle d’Études” talks: Autumn 2019 programme

Our autumn 2019 programme of free talks (in French) at the Fondation Napoléon in Paris begins on Tuesday 17 September at 6pm with a talk to be given by Peter Hicks on the topic “Napoleon and Antiquity: Plutarch, Hannibal, and Charlemagne”.

Other talks will follow: “General Lamarque”, by Gonzague Espinosa-Dassonneville; “Napoleon and Protestants”, by Revd. Alain Joly; “The recruitment of crews of the war fleet in the time of Napoleon”, by Thierry Sauzeau; “Napoleons booksellers and publishers: Treuttel & Würtz”, by Annika Haß; “General Gourgaud’s Journal de Sainte-Hélène”, by Jacques Macé; and “François Guizot: A liberal between the two Empires”, by Laurent Theis.
